Fitting Your Equinox 700 – 900 - 11inch Coil Stiffener

Coil yoke stiffeners will make your coils less prone to breaking by reinforcing the existing yoke plates.

This version by extending over and down the sides of the coil main body greatly reduces the sideways lateral loads on the shaft mounting tabs.

We have been making and designing coil stiffeners and repair stiffeners for all types of detectors for many years.

So do not settle for second best and look alike copies that do not meet the claims made.

Remove the coil from the metal detector and clean it.

Check the shaft rubbers are not worn and replace if necessary.

Put the coil on a firm flat surface.

Take the coil stiffener and with the arrow on the body of the stiffener pointing to the front of the coil align the and push down firmly until it snaps into place on the coil.

Next refit the bottom shaft back onto the coil using the bolt provided by passing through the aligned holes of the coil and stiffener. The yellow tool provided has a alignment point to help get the coil and shaft in the right position by inserting the point into the coil bolt hole.

As you screw in the bolt in it will screw in on the thread of the coil ear and then pick up on the thread of the nut in the coil stiffener.

If it does not you may need to remove the nut in the stiffener and rotate on flat at a time until it aligns the threads in coil and stiffener.

You can use the coil bolt to pull the nut out of the coil body, just screw in from the nut side and wiggle it out then turn a flat and replace.

You can then adjust the bolt with either the coil nut key or by hand to the desired friction to keep the coil level when using.

Finally pass the 2 cable ties through the stiffener body using provided holes and around the coil body and pull tight to keep the stiffener secure to the coil body.
